Wine & Food Exploration

For groups of between six and twelve we have created a new way of experiencing the fabulous wineries and producers of the Wairarapa.

You will access to places otherwise not readily open to visitors. We will take you and friends, and or clients, on a journey of discovery away from the usual venues and tour bus groups.

We will start the day at Forty Five Wood with morning tea. The redoubtable Rusty, owner of The French Baker in main Street Greytown, will send in a range of superb pastries and titbits. Each day includes an in depth session with a Winemaker/owner where you will gain an intimate understanding of their wine making techniques and philosophy. (Not an often repeated speech at a busy Cellar Door!)

In partnership with Greytown’s famous country pub, The White Swan, Dale Keith and I will take you through a tasting of six Pinot Noir showing the fascinating differences between Martinborough, Gladstone and Masterton – (North Wairarapa)

Lunch will feature either duck or pork from the Wairarapa and you can enjoy another glass or two from The Swan’s extensive range all of which has been lovingly cellared.

We can either collect your group from Woodside Train Station in the morning and deliver safely back for the 4.0pm train or door to door transport can easily be arrange from Wellington.

Cost: $250 per person including morning tea, winery visit, range tasting at The White Swan and lunch. Additional wine purchased separately.
